High School Health Adventure Physiotherapy Experience

Are you considering a career in physiotherapy? Mater Education’s intensive one day Physiotherapy Experience course will take you inside this challenging and rewarding field so you can explore your options.

High school health adventure is a program that has been designed to create a realistic experience of 'a day in the life' of a health professional. The utilization of simulation with manikins, skills stations, digital technology and case-based scenarios help to create this real-world learning in a unique environment for high school students.

This experience will cover basic health professional understanding with a focus on physiotherapy. Delivered on-site at Mater Education’s world-class medical simulation facility, the course is hands-on—you will get to experience and understand the impact physiotherapists make on their patients through management of trauma injuries, rehabilitation of neurological conditions such as strokes, and through respiratory physiotherapy and rehabilitation in intensive care units.

Physiotherapy represents a burgeoning field of healthcare—we’ll introduce you to the broad scope and variety of roles that exist in this space. For example, physiotherapists have a role to play emergency departments, in women’s health (including pre and post birth), and in workplaces and schools. As this course will show you, the opportunities to carve out a dynamic career as a physio are endless.

Who should attend?

Our High School Health Adventure Physiotherapy Experience course is designed for years 10, 11 and 12 high school students looking to explore a career in physiotherapy.
